Betr launches P2P fantasy game and Chameleon-powered sportsbook

Micro-betting-focused operator Betr has launched a new peer-to-peer betting product and soft launched its new Betr Sportsbook ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Group Mode goes live

Yesterday (29 August), Betr announced the launch of its Betr Picks “Group Mode” product, which allows customers to participate in Betr’s fantasy sports pick ‘em product in a peer-to-peer format, allowing users to compete directly against one another.

Alongside the launch of Group Mode, Betr Picks has gone live in Florida and Massachussetts.

The product is also expected to launch “imminently” in Virginia, Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri, Alabama, West Virginia, New Hampshire, and Delaware, which will bring the number of live states for Betr Picks to a total of 33, plus Washington DC.

New sportsbook soft launch

Elsewhere, Betr has also begun a soft launch of its new sportsbook product, which is now live in Ohio and Viriginia, “with more state launches planned over the coming months.”

The new version of Betr Sportsbook maintain’s the brand’s “trademark simple and intuitive user experience, while also enabling Betr to expand far beyond microbetting for its sportsbook vertical,” the operator said.

In addition to its core micro-markets, the new product will offer same-game parlays, player props, futures, exotics and traditional markets including moneyline, point spread and over/unders.

New states incoming

Having launched in two states, the product is expected to go live in Indiana and Maryland “over the coming months,” as Betr already holds temporary sports betting licences in those states subject to regulatory approval.

The brand is also seeking betting licences in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Kentucky and, if successful, will also launch its new sportsbook products in those states over the coming months.

The new sportsbook has been built on top of the Chameleon platform, which Betr acquired in May 2023 from FansUnite.

“We are thrilled to launch Group Mode for Betr Picks and to soft launch the new Betr Sportsbook,” said Betr founder and CEO Joey Levy.

“Today’s two product launches represent an important inflection point for Betr – Betr Picks will now be available to 65% of the US population, enabling us to welcome millions of new sports fans to Betr for the first time.

“Significant product improvements are on the way across both Picks and Sportsbook but we are proud of the quick progress we have made here.”
