Stake has officially launched in Mexico as part of its continued expansion into locally regulated markets.
The operator will go live via stake.mx, bringing its sports betting and casino product to one of Latin America’s largest gambling markets.
Online gaming revenue overtook land-based revenue in Mexico for the first time in 2025.
NEXT.io last year revealed how shifting regulation, a young and mobile-first population, and a sports-mad culture are combining to create one of the most dynamic yet complex growth opportunities in the global online gambling industry.
Stake will operate in Mexico under a permit-based structure regulated by SEGOB, acting as an agent under Uno Capali’s licence agreement.
The launch expands Stake’s presence in Latam, where it already operates in markets including Peru and Colombia.
Mexico’s role as a co-host of the 2026 World Cup, along with the US and Canada, played a key role in the strategic launch.
The tournament is expected to drive major sportsbook acquisition and engagement activity across the region, which is fanatical about football.
Mexico have been drawn alongside South Africa, South Korea and the Czech Republic.
Mexican market ‘important and exciting’
Stake director Jarrod Febbraio said: “Mexico is an important and exciting market for us – one that combines strong underlying growth with a deep cultural connection to sport, which aligns perfectly with what Stake is built for.
“We’ve built significant momentum across Latin America in recent years, including in markets such as Peru and Colombia, and Mexico represents a natural next step given its scale and long-term potential.
“The timing of this launch reflects our ability to move with precision into high-value markets at the right moment.
“It gives us the opportunity to establish a strong presence ahead of one of the biggest sporting events in the world and deliver a world-class experience for Mexican players,” he added.
The launch continues Stake’s strategic push into regulated local-currency markets as the brand looks to improve its reputation beyond its sprawling crypto-led global business.
Stake, which is famous for its celebrity partnerships with Drake and Alex Pereira among others, struck a deal in March to sign former Belgian international Eden Hazard as its World Cup ambassador.
