Stake continues Latam expansion with Buenos Aires launch

Stake has launched its online casino and sportsbook in Argentina’s Buenos Aires Province, adding another regulated market to its Latin American operations.

The company will operate via stake.bet.ar, after the business was granted a gaming licence by Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC). Buenos Aires Province has the largest population of Argentina’s regions, with over 17 million residents.

It is also the largest province in terms of both economy and athletics in the country.

The launch, which follows the company’s entry into Mexico in May, gives players in the province access to Stake’s sportsbook and casino platform, with a mobile-led product and locally tailored gaming content.

The company said the entry forms part of its wider push into regulated Latin American markets.

Stake has moved quickly across the region during the past 18 months. It launched in Brazil after securing approval under the country’s new federal betting framework, and has also expanded in Colombia, Peru and Mexico.

|n Mexico, Stake operates via stake.mx under a permit-based structure overseen by SEGOB, Mexico’s Ministry of the Interior.

The company acts under an agreement with Uno Capali, a local licence holder.

Stake is now presented with the opportunity to capitalise on a football-oriented society alongside high internet penetration in Argentina. The brand already holds an ambassador partnership with Sergio Agüero, a former striker for Argentina’s national team and Manchester City.

Argentina a “natural next step” for Stake

Diana Otalora, Stake’s general manager for Latin America, said Argentina was a natural next step for the company. She cited the country’s sporting culture, large online audience and long-term potential.

She explained: “Argentina is an important market for us and a natural next step in our expansion across Latin America. There is an incredibly passionate sporting culture, a large and digitally engaged population and strong long-term potential for Stake.

“We’ve continued to build momentum across Latin America in recent years, and this launch reflects our ambition to establish Stake as the leading entertainment brand in the region.”

The Buenos Aires launch also fits Stake’s broader move toward locally regulated operations. In February, the company entered Denmark after securing a five-year online casino and sports betting licence.

That move followed its acquisition of MocinoPlay, the company behind VinderCasino, in early 2025.

Stake has also added product and supplier support for regulated markets. Last year, Kambi announced a sportsbook partnership with Stake tied to the operator’s Brazil launch, giving the company a regulated-market sportsbook platform in selected jurisdictions.

Founded in 2017, Stake has built its global business around online casino, sports betting and high-profile sports partnerships. The company says its global domains attract more than 100 million monthly visits.
