BetCity extended its sportsbook deal with Kambi today (24 February), three years on from its acquisition by Entain.
The multi-year extension will see Kambi continue to provide its end-to-end sportsbook solution to the Dutch online gambling operator.
It follows the brand’s acquisition in 2022 by Entain, which settled a lawsuit last autumn against its former owners for allegedly concealing information ahead of the sale.
Kambi CEO Werner Becher said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with BetCity, a brand that has demonstrated exceptional ambition since its inception.
“This agreement reflects the strong relationship we have built over the past few years and underscores Kambi’s commitment to empowering partners with the premium technology and services needed to succeed in regulated markets.
“We look forward to continuing this journey with BetCity and supporting their next phase of growth as part of Entain’s stable of brands.”
Kambi initially partnered with BetCity in 2021, where it supported the business in its launch into the Dutch regulated market in October the same year.
Alongside the sportsbook deal, the operator has also partnered with Shape Games, Kambi’s front-end division, to enhance its user experience.
Vic Walia, CEO of BetCity, added: “Since partnering with Kambi, BetCity has gone from strength to strength, achieving a prominent position in a highly competitive market.
“Kambi’s advanced Turnkey Sportsbook and high-quality service have been pivotal to our success, and we are excited to extend this collaboration as we continue to deliver a premium betting experience to our players in the Netherlands.”
Entain settled its lawsuit against BetCity’s founders in November 2024, after suing the business for allegedly concealing the existence of two regulatory probes.
While the terms of the settlement were confidential, Entain confirmed the deal resolves all disputes concerning the company’s acquisition.
Alongside the BetCity deal, Kambi also announced today it had agreed to supply its sportsbook solution to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
The news, which saw the provider’s stock price rise 3.26% to SEK123.50 (€11.07) per share, will involve taking over responsibilities from FDJ, which has indicated it intends to focus on its B2C operations going forward.
