DraftKings debuts new peer-to-peer Pick6 product in six US states

DraftKings has unveiled Pick6, a new peer-to-peer fantasy sports variant based around a “more or less” mechanic for individual player stats.

The product will debut in six states initially, starting 6 December 2023 in Maryland, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Pick6 will feature player picks for NFL and NBA contests at launch, with both additional sports set to be added and additional state rollouts into next year.

The product allows customers to build a line-up of between two and six players from two or more teams, predicting “more or less” of a statistic for each athlete on their team.

Additional features include a “My Picks” section where customers can monitor their submitted, live and final picks. Line-up edits and real-time performance tracking are also part of the product interface.

A separate Pick6 app has been made available on the iOS and Android stores.

“For the past decade, DraftKings has defined innovation in fantasy sports,” said DraftKings chief product officer (CPO) Corey Gottlieb.

“Pick6 is the next great example of that innovation—this is a homegrown, peer-to-peer product that taps into our customers’ desire for fun, simple-to-play experiences tied to their favourite athletes.

“We are excited to give our customers another way to experience live sports by competing against each other,” he added.

DraftKings is continuing to innovate in fantasy sports while also upgrading its online sports betting product.

The operator last month launched a new concept called Progressive Parlays, which shares similarities with flex play features offered by DFS competitors, according to some users.

DraftKings was recently crowned the number one online gambling operator in the US market, but is still trailing behind FanDuel for online sports betting market share by GGR.
